Many people have argued that love is the prerequisite to courage. I beg to differ. Anything we are afraid to lose will not give way to courage. Time guarantees we will all eventually lose everything and everyone. Therefore, courage can only come by having faith in God.

About This Quote

In this quote, the author is saying that love is the prerequisite to courage. However, he states that being afraid to lose something will not give us courage. He says that time will inevitably take everything from us. This prompted me to consider what happens when we lose a loved one or a friend.

Does loss of a loved one or a friend give rise to courage? This is a concept I have never considered before. It makes sense in a way, but still seems to contradict with the author’s statement.
